On an airplane, the flight attendants instruct us to put on our oxygen mask before assisting others in an emergency. No one thinks this is selfish: We need our mask so we can breathe… so we can function… so we can be there for the people who need us. How does this only make sense on a plane?
My mother gave me this great advice: Take care of yourself first. Because if you’re healthy and strong and happy you’ll be able to take better care of the people you love.
